Throughout June, Curam Care Homes welcomed families, loved ones and community members to a series of informative and engaging Information Events across our homes.
These events were created to open our doors to families, friends, and community members – offering an inside look at our care homes, the wider team of people behind our care, and the values that guide everything we do.

Welcoming Families Into Our Homes
These events gave families the opportunity to meet the wider team of people who care for their loved ones – our Director of Nursing, ADoN’s, as well as our Clinical, Housekeeping, Catering, Activities and Maintenance teams. Teams shared updated on recent HIQA Inspections, new care initiatives and enhancements to resident experiences.
Quality Care, Explained Clearly
Events also included informative sessions to give families a deeper understanding of our clinical and care services, including infection control protocols and practical guidance around laundry and resident belongings. These insights gave families reassurance and practical knowledge on how we support residents every day.
Celebrating Daily Life and Community
From visiting alpacas, intergenerational programmes and day-trips, life at Curam is full of moments worth celebrating. These events were a chance to share how we create vibrant, socially connected communities in our homes. Our Activities Teams showcased recent events and gave a preview of what’s to come. Along with this they shared how families who might wish to can get involved through volunteering.
Catering and Nutrition
Dining is a hugely important part of life and as such nutrition was a key focus at these events. Visitors heard from our catering teams about exciting menu updates, how we cater for individual dietary needs, and how we ensure that mealtimes are not just nourishing but enjoyable.
Advocacy, Safeguarding and Support
Highlighted at the Open Evenings was our dedication to Residents’ Rights and Safeguarding. Families met with our Designated Safeguarding Officers and heard from guest speakers, including local Community Gardaí and Religious Service Representatives, who discussed community safety, advocacy support, and spiritual wellbeing.
Strengthening the Curam-Family Relationship
Through tools like our communication app Curam Connect, ongoing family surveys, and flexible visiting policies, we are constantly evolving how we stay in touch with families and keep them involved in every aspect of care. These tools are part of our commitment to transparency, accessibility, and building meaningful relationships with residents’ loved ones.
