We’re delighted to announce that Sinéad Meegan from Oakfield Nursing Home – has been recognised at a national level for her dedication to outstanding nursing home care.
At the recent NHI Care Awards 2025, held in the Round Room at Mansion House Dublin, Sinéad was awarded the General Care Award in recognition of her compassion, professionalism and commitment to residents, colleagues and the wider community.
Sinéad was joined by colleagues from Oakfield for the awards, and also colleagues from Curam Care Home Navan Road who were there to support resident May O’Reilly who was a finalist in the Resident Recognition category.

NHI Care Awards
These Awards — now in their 16th year — highlight exceptional care within nursing homes across Ireland. This year, over 250 nominations were submitted and only 34 finalists selected by an independent panel of experts from nursing, academia and health & social care sectors.
Care That Goes The Extra Mile
Sinéad is Activities Co-ordinator at Oakfield Nursing Home in Courtown, Co. Wexford where her dedication to enriching the lives of her residents has made a huge impact.
Earlier this year Sinéad lead an award-winning intergenerational arts project with Rachel Uí Fhaoláin — which won an Arts in Nursing Homes award and was even featured on RTÉ Radio 1’s Drivetime.
And recently Sinéad was instrumental in campaigning successfully to have a bus-stop outside of Oakfield Nursing Home added to the Local Link route, allowing residents and their loved ones, better access to and from the home.
Sinéad’s recognition shines a light on the high standards of care we uphold at Curam Care Homes, and it reaffirms our belief that everyday acts of care — kindness, empathy, professionalism — truly matter and are seen.
Award Winning Care
Sinead joins fellow members of the Curam Care Home team who were previous winners of an NHI Care Award: John McDonald, Luke Coughlan and Colm Finnegan.
