Palliative care nurse holding care home residents handCuram Care Homes strive to offer professional, loving and person centered palliative care to any of our residents with life-threatening illness who are approaching the end of life. Our philosophy of care is to help residents of all ages to live well and die well, with dignity and peace of mind.

Palliative Care is care given to improve the quality of life of residents who have serious or life-limiting conditions. This means a condition, illness or disease which is progressive and cannot be cured.

We aim to treat, as early as possible, the symptoms of the disease (or side-effects caused by treatments), and to treat with compassion, any psychological, social and spiritual problems related to the illness.

We also recognise that supporting family and friends is a key part of this care, and assist families and caregivers through the experience and provide a bereavement support service to those who are grieving.

Curam Care Homes provides this with consultation and support from a specialist Palliative Care service through a multidisciplinary team, guided by a consultant physician in Palliative Medicine and delivered in conjunction with community specialist palliative care nurses.
