All Curam Care Homes offer short term respite care for people who do not require a longer stay or permanent admission to one of our care homes.
What is Respite Care?
Respite services are available to support an individual’s ability to live longer in the community by ensuring that family and other caregivers are supported.
During a short term stay our respite residents can enjoy the same high quality care that we provide for our long term residents as well as recreation and socialisation opportunities.
A multidisciplinary team, consisting of Curam Care Home professionals, the individual and their caregiver, the attending physician and facility staff, provide:
- assessment and referral services
- nursing care and a person focused care plan
- resident and caregiver support
- self-care, health promotion, and prevention of illness or injury
- recreation and socialisation opportunities
- nutrition, laundry and housekeeping services
- medical services in collaboration with our care home physician
Availability of Respite Care
All Curam Care Homes maintain respite care facilities based on bedroom availability. Access to respite care services is subject to availability based on the need for temporary relief and the availability of facility resources. Please contact your requested Curam Care Home for more information.
