At Curam Care Homes, we take great pride in our homes and the communities we provide in them for our residents and their families.
We fully understand that making the choice to move into a Care Home is an important decision and can be difficult for all involved.
As a provider of health and social care, we recognise that this transition is a major life change. Our aim is to ensure that “Quality of Care, Quality of Life” is promoted to the highest possible level with meaningful and enjoyable activities for all of our residents and continued social contact.
It is as important to us at Curam Care Homes as it is to our residents that we succeed in our ambition to create a home from home environment. Our homes are all purpose built and either new or recently decorated making them bright, airy and pleasant spaces.
All of our homes have landscaped gardens for our residents to enjoy – whether they like to garden themselves, savor a stroll in the fresh air or indeed just like to admire the views of a nice garden, our spaces are there for them to enjoy.

At Curam Care Homes, we believe that life should be lived fully at every age. That’s why we offer a diverse, engaging and meaningful programme of activities — designed not just to pass the time, but to bring joy, spark creativity, and nurture deep connections.
Activities That Are Tailored And Inclusive
Each of our homes curates its own schedule, shaped by the interests, needs and preferences of the residents who live there. Working with our physiotherapist and occupational therapist, we adapt our activities to suit all abilities and aim to create a warm, inclusive atmosphere where everyone can participate in their own way.
Our activities are thoughtfully organised around four core pillars: Community, Cultural, Creative and Companionship.
Community: Staying Connected to the World Around Us
Our homes are at the heart of their local communities — and we make sure our residents stay connected to them.
From school visits and intergenerational projects to partnerships with local clubs and community groups, our residents enjoy frequent interaction with people of all ages. These relationships bring energy, laughter and a sense of belonging — while also allowing our residents to share their stories, wisdom and life experience.
Examples include:
- Visits from local primary and secondary school groups
- Intergenerational art and storytelling projects
- Involvement in community events and fundraisers
- Guest speakers from local organisations
Cultural: Bringing the Arts to Life
We believe cultural experiences nourish the soul. That’s why we offer enriching trips and in-house events that celebrate music, theatre, literature and the visual arts.
Whether it’s a day out at a local museum or theatre, or an afternoon enjoying live music, we make sure culture remains an active and inspiring part of daily life.
Examples include:
- Outings to the theatre or local cinema
- Trips to museums, galleries or heritage centres
- Visits from musicians, performers or historians
- Themed cultural days (Irish Traditions, World Culture, etc.)
Creative: Encouraging self-expression and skill
Creativity doesn’t fade with age — it flourishes when given the chance. Our Creative activities give residents the opportunity to express themselves through hands-on projects, both individually and as part of a group.
Whether it’s painting, knitting, flower arranging or crafting seasonal decorations, these sessions boost mood, stimulate the mind, encourage discussion and create beautiful moments of self-expression.
Examples include:
- Arts & crafts workshops
- Seasonal decoration-making (Christmas, Easter, etc.)
- Collaborative art projects for display in the home
- Baking, gardening and other tactile, creative pastimes
Companionship: The joy of genuine connection
Sometimes the smallest moments have the biggest impact. Our Companionship programme is about one-to-one connection, meaningful conversation, and emotional wellbeing.
Through dedicated time with staff, visits from therapy animals, and personalised activities, we ensure every resident feels seen, heard and cared for on an individual level.
Examples include:
- One-to-one chats or reminiscence sessions
- Pet therapy visits (for example dogs, cats, alpacas and lambs
