Four residents from Curam Care Home Navan Road—Emer Keogh, May O’Reilly, Sr. Margaret Henry, and Gerard Comiskey—were recently invited to a very special event: a Community Garden Party at Áras an Uachtaráin, hosted by President Michael D. Higgins and his wife Sabina. They were accompanied by Margaret Bewley from our Activities Team, and together they enjoyed a memorable afternoon in the beautiful gardens of the President’s residence.

This invitation was part of a long-standing tradition of Garden Parties held each summer to recognise the incredible contributions made by individuals and groups across Ireland. The afternoon was full of lively music, warm company, and a fantastic atmosphere—a proud and memorable experience for all, and a lovely reminder of the special moments our residents can enjoy.

Residents are encouraged to take part in ways that are meaningful to them. Whether it’s enjoying a quiet moment with a newspaper or dancing at a tea party, we support each person’s preferences and needs. Our dedicated activities teams work closely with residents to create programmes that promote joy, inclusion, and quality of life.

Special outings like the Áras Garden Party are just one example of how we help residents continue to make memories, feel part of the community, and live life to the fullest.
